FLASH READY FOR REMATCH WITH LONG ISLAND

Home Team Hopes for Quicker Start in Second Meeting

BUFFALO, NY (June 2, 2017) --- The Western New York Flash (0-1-2) will be taking on the Long Island Rough Riders (1-0-1) for the second time this season on Saturday evening. The United Women's Soccer tilt will kick off at 7:00 PM at Niagara University.

The last meeting between these two teams was just two weeks ago in Long Island, where the Rough Riders got out to a first-half lead but a late goal by Kaelyn Gamel salvaged a point for the visitors.

The Flash opened their home slate two weeks ago, as they used two second-half goals from Carissima Cutrona and Maddie Pezzino to steal a point away from the New York Surf.

The team was on a bye week last week, but still took time to spend time with one another and grow closer off the field.

"Memorial Day weekend and the break from our schedule gave us the opportunity to be around each other more as teammates and people,” Head Coach Gary Bruce explained. “From the way I've seen the group grow closer and form their connections with one another, I'm anticipating seeing this same, better connection emerge on the field tomorrow evening.”

The Rough Riders are coming off of a 3-0 win against New Jersey Copa FC, but also had a bye week this past weekend.

Flash Academy players will get free entry to all Flash games by wearing this jersey. General Admission tickets for the game can be purchased here.

Updates from the match will be available on Twitter at @WNYFlash.
